Syed Mudassir Ali Shah Moosvi is a Shia cleric based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He preaches in English, Farsi, and Urdu. He is also a fluent speaker of Arabic, the language of the Qur'an (القرآن) and major Islamic supplications. Syed Mudassir is the first resident cleric at both Shia Association of Bay Area (SABA Islamic Center), and the Azakhana-e-Zahra, PBUH. Syed Mudassir is also the author of a number of booklets about interesting Islamic philosophical topics such as the Hereafter and Irfan (Islamic mysticism). Syed Mudassir Ali Shah Moosvi has tirelessly served and led the Bay Area Shia community in his own special way since 1990. Nabi Raza Mir (a.k.a. Nabi Raza Abidi) is a Khomeinist cleric from India. His stay in America has been very troubled for various reasons, among them is the insistence of the United States Government on not granting him permanent residency status. He has joined the Bay Area Shia community in 2002 when he was invited by SABA. Nabi Raza preaches in Urdu, his native language, and Farsi, which he had learned while he was studying Shiite Islam in the seminaries of Qum, Iran. He also delivers speeches in English as well. Seyyed Mahmoud Sedehi is a Shia cleric who has joined the Bay Area Shia community in 2005. He is a native of Iran and preaches in only Farsi. He initially helped the local Persian Shiites to establish Masjid Al-Rasool, PBUH&HF, in Campbell, CA, where he preached for several months. He then moved on to co-establish and preach at Mohammadiyah Islamic Center, in Fremont, California. Seyyed Sedehi has also preached at Shia Association of Bay Area (SABA Islamic Center) as a visiting Shia cleric.
