Zaheer Hassan (urdu: ظهير حسن) (a.k.a. Molana Syed Zaheer Ul Hassan Naqvi) is a junior level Khomeinist mullah who hails from Punjab, Pakistan. He completed most of his preliminary studies on Shia Islam in the Ja'fari seminaries in his native country. Zaheer subsequently travelled to Qom, Iran, to complete the required studies for earning his black turban. It was there that he first encountered yet another South Asian Syed: Qamar Hassani of the San Francisco Bay Area. ظهير الحسن

Zaheer Hassan has made his way into the United States when he married Homa, whom he encountered while they were both performing the Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Indeed, it was not Lady Luck who smiled upon Zaheer; instead it was Lady Homa who took him under her wings and brought him from his small remote village in Punjab to the vast Land of Opportunities: America. Zaheer Hassan is an adherent and a proponent of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's Velayat-e Faqih ideology. Furthermore, Zaheer is an open and a proud follower of the current Vali-e Faqih, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran. Zaheer frequently boasts about his direct access to Ayatollah Khamenei, implying that he, Zaheer, is of relatively high importance to both the Supreme Leader and his regime. In fact, on one accasion in 2007, Zaheer bragged in front of this author that during a personal encounter with the Supreme Leader the latter asked Zaheer to extend his regards to Syed Fazil Hussain Mosavi, a Pakistani mullah based in Los Angeles. In any case, it is rather irrelevant whether Zaheer's allegations about his access to officials of the highest levels in Iran are factual or not ― The bottom line remains the same: Zaheer is indeed one of Khamenei's mullah's in the United States.
